Eternal Hunter - Cynthia Eden

Meh... it was alright. More of a 3.5 read for me. The story was pretty good and the sex was hot and well written. I'm just not sure why I didn't connect more like I wanted to.

Surrender - Lora Leigh

Not really much of a story, but who cares! The sex is off the charts!! If you read this book, makes sure its on a weekend and you have your husband, boyfriend or BOB available. You're going to need it!

The Professional: Part 1 - Kresley Cole

Dear Kresley Cole....

Thank you

Natalie has been searching for her biological parents for the past 6 years. She's hired a PI who's finally gotten a good lead and then he disappears with all Natalie's money and information. Then while out with her friends using her "manalyzer" skills she spots Mr. GQ model/Cage fighter hot piece of Russian man walking into the bar and Natalie is at a loss for words and her manalyzer seems to be broken.

My Natalie

Sevastyan was hired by Natalie's biological father to watch over her. When there is a behind the scenes threat to Natalie's life, Sevastyan is forced to confront Natalie and take her to Russia where she will be safe.

My Sevastyan

I cannot give this book 5 stars simply because it's a cliffhanger. I mean... part 1, 2 and 3 are all 120 pages each so why not make it one book? Seriously, is it about money because Kresley Cole is an auto buy for me and Im sure a lot of other people out there feel the same way. Everything she writes is AH-MAZIN! So, with that being said... The Professional: Part 1 is no exception. It really is a good flippin novella and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Kresley Cole is the master at writing about sexual situations and tension. The naughty parts of this novella are super hot and well written. Even though Natalie and Sevastyan don't now each other very well, you can feel the chemistry between them. Natalie is the educated coed and eager virgin and Sevastyan is the reluctant bodyguard with on and off again emotions towards Natalie. I would also like to say that we definitely need more 69ing in our books. There doesn't seem to be nearly enough.

Overall, this was a fantastic read as I expected. The only thing that I don't like is that this leaves you with a cliffhanger and now I have to wait until January to read the next one. The sexual situations were HAWT and the overall story is really good.

Favorite quotes
"Probably gets more ass than a toilet seat. But he got you to look twice, which makes him a rare and wondrous creature, this bar's very own unicorn. Requires closer investigation, don't you think?"

"When a woman singles me out, its because she wants to get fucked. She looks at the scars and tattoos and knows she'll get fucked hard."

Firefly Hollow - T.L. Haddix

Bravo! I LOVE IT!

Owen is really an underdog in this book. He has a rough childhood and has shut himself off from the world as an adult. Owen loves to learn but had to drop out of school at a very young age due to a couple of incidents he had at school and with his father and brother.

Sarah didn't really have a rough childhood but she has taken some blows to her self esteem from her sister Kathy throughout her childhood and into her adult years. After an embarrassing moment in school, Sarah decides to concentrate on her studies and eventually goes to college. When Sarah's father turns ill, she is called back home and this is where Owen and Sarah's story really starts.

This story takes place in the late 50's so the "courting" and birth control methods are strange to me, but are important to how Owen and Sarah's relationship develop. I've read some other reviews where people are disappointed that it's not more descriptive. I'm happy it's not more descriptive because I don't want that to overshadow the story. I want Owen and Sarah time and that is exactly what I got.

I am blown away by this amazing book story romance! It was a slow start but so worth the wait. At the top of the blurb its says Genre: Romance with paranormal elements and that is the truth. The "paranormal" aspect of the story is not the main focus but definitely an important part. The focus is on the romance and relationship building between Owen and Sarah and the world that surrounds them. The heat level is very low and Owen and Sarah don't even share a kiss until almost at 50%. The sexual tension between these two is palpable. So every time they have contact with each other you will get little butterflies in your belly. There are some funny, laugh out loud moments, some tear jerking moments and even some major jaw dropping moments.

Owen... what can I say about him. He is just... well... he is a gentleman. He is the kind of guy that will open the car door for you. He's humble and honest but maybe not really forthcoming with all his secrets right away but that is understandable under the circumstances. He's a charmer and doesn't even know it. He's one of my new favorite guys. I just love Owen.

I really love Sarah too. She's just so darn lovable. I never once got irritated with her. She's smart and sometimes wise beyond her years. She is beautiful but doesn't fall for every advance she gets.

The romance between Owen and Sarah is so sweet and beautiful and very realistic. Each passing, every encounter, shy smile, heart ache, longing and laugh... I felt like I was there. I just can gush enough about this book.

Oh the jaw dropping moment... I can't! I just cannot and well... I was not expecting that. I had to take a break after reading that and collect myself before diving back in. Whew!

The only thing I would have liked to see more of is shifting and more descriptive sex scenes. Other than that, this is an amazing book. Very well written and an easy read. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. I think this book would translate really well into a move. Please run out and buy this book, its only $3.99 on Amazon and you will not be disappointed. If you're needing to cleanse your book reading palate and get back to the romance basics then this just might be the one for you.

Some of my favorite things:
Owen: "I'd like to kiss you, Sarah Browning. May I?" The next kiss wasn't as sweet, but carried a hint of something hotter. Sarah slid her hands up to wrap her arms around his neck. The movement triggered a response and Owen deepened the kiss. Heat flared between them, a little overwhelming, and Sarah turned her head. She gasped for breath as his mount trailed across her jaw and found a sensitive spot beneath her ear. He lingered there, then let out a ling, shaky breath.

Owen to Randall : "I vote my conscience, I'm more concerned with the man behind the stump speech than whether he's a Democrat or Republican. Now, we've talked about money, politics and sex, three things my mother always taught me shouldn't be discussed n polite company. Knowing Mrs. Browning as I do, I can't imagine she didn't teach her children the same thing, which makes it all the more puzzling that all three have come up while we were trying to enjoy this wonderful meal that Sarah prepared for us. It must be some bad outside influence is the only thing that I can come up with."

Zombie Romance? Yes Please!

Dead Sexy - Paige Tyler

Oh my zombielicious goodness! Who knew a zombie could be this hawt?! This is my first zombie romance and let me just say that I am impressed. It has a Beauty and the Beast feel to it, but that is not what the book is about. This was definitely one of those books that are hard to put down. This book has a great story line and what I think is a unique and extremely interesting way of telling a zombie story.

Oh and there is lots of action in and out of the bedroom. Once these two decide to sleep together… wow! Just WOW! Its sexy, explosive, urgent and I felt like I was right there with them. However, they had sex almost constantly between 35% to 75% of this book. There was still sex after 75% but at least it wasn't all constantly sex. Drake and Simone couldn't keep their hands off each other and even after a very stressful and potentially life threatening situation, they still palmed each other constantly.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The story, sex and action were good and well written. The flow was nice and made it an easy read. The sex was nuclear but I wish Drake and Simone would have taken breathers every now and then so I could get more story. Sometimes it felt like she was throwing in all the different sex positions just to see if she could put them all in one book.

There is this one line that Simone was thinking that was so cheesy, right before her and Drake were about to have sex for the first time, that I had to repeat it here: Ahem….
“Oh yeah, he was definitely packing some serious heat down there. She wondered if he had a license for that weapon. This was New York, after all, and concealed weapons were strictly prohibited. Apparently, no one had ever told Drake that. Thank God.”

Paige Tyler has a new fan and I can not wait to read more from her.

Layers Deep (Layers Trilogy #1) - Lacey Silks

Are you KIDDING ME??!! I know there is a warning in the synopsis about this being a cliffhanger and Allie and Tristan will get their HEA in later books... but its still infuriating.

WARNING!

CLIFFHANGER!

NO HEA!

Allie Green is a New York cop with a tragic past. She has been plotting revenge on the one man who destroyed her family 13 years ago. Allie seizes an opportunity to work for a security firm at Cross Enterprises and plans to use the company's resources to take out her revenge. This is where Tristan Cross comes in. Super hot, sexy and smart rich guy walks in and immediately makes eyes at Allie. They have an instant connection.

The cliffhanger and the lack of a HEA are the only reason why this is not getting 4 stars form me. So frustrating. I really don't like that feeling when you know you're getting close to the end of the book and nothing has been resolved. WHY?? I will buy the next book based on the content alone to therefore it's not necessary to leave me hanging like that.

*frustrated reader*

I'm so upset because this is a really good novella and should have been a fantastically amazing full length book. There was only one thing that got resolved and that all happened in about one chapter. What happened to Mr. Wright, Kendra, Julian, Allie's mom Peg and Martinez?

I can't go into a lot of detail because I don't want to give away any of the story. I will say that there is some suspense, but I wish there was more. Also, once Tristan and Allie seal the deal... they cant seem to keep their hands off each other. So there is a lot of sex and its pretty good. Then you have some good story and then a twist and then a WTF moment and a cliffhanger.

I would not recommend reading this book unless you have the rest of the series waiting to read immediately after you're done. With that being said... I WILL be reading the rest of this series and hopefully it comes out soon. I don't like being left on the hook like this.

Serafina and the Leprechaun's Shoe (Serafina's, #3) - Marie Treanor

Overall this is really a 3 1/2 star read for me. The sex is more of a 4 star and the story is just a 3. After Serafina and the Virtual Man, I had high hopes and thought this one would have been more mysterious and exciting. Don't get me wrong... there is a little bit of mystery with a dash of excitement but I just needed more. What was the purpose of Mike and the Reapers? Or the zombie boy and dog? What is the significance of "The Founder"? The Founder keeps popping up but not showing himself? Leprechauns... why wasn't there more about them in this book? I mean, it's in the title. I wanted to know more about their world and how Roxy and her mother tie into that world.

What I really loved about this book is that we continue to hear about Sera and Blair's relationship and Jilly and Adam's relationship. I absolutely LOVE Jilly and Adam's story and enjoyed getting little bits of them. I love Jack and am so happy he got a story. However, I was a little skeptical about Roxy being Jacks love interest. Since she's Adams ex, I wasn't really sure I would like this. But it turned out pretty good.

Overall, this book is very busy and there are a lot of different things going on at the same time and the ending felt a bit rushed. I really liked Jack and Roxy's characters and the sex with them is really, really good! I feel that there should have been more story development with the leprechauns and less about Mike and the Reapers. I do like the series and will look forward to more from this author.

Serafina and the Virtual Man - Marie Treanor

I really liked this book better than the first one. There is a really good mystery to this one and the twist and turns it takes you down are very interesting. The VR system reminds me of the holodeck on Star Trek. I really wish there was such a thing.

Geek Jilly, who has a very disturbing past, is part of Serafina's psychic group. She is not psychic herself but is the hacker/tech specialist. Genesis Adam is part owner of the very successful gaming company named Genesis. He is somehow existing in his new virtual reality system at his best friend's house. He is trying to find out how he died and who did it.

I know that is not really a good synopsis, however the story is so much bigger and more complicated than that. If I said any more I would give away clues and I don't like doing that. I will say that we get to see a lot of Sera and Blair, which makes me VERY happy.

Adam: "You danced with me in Paris; we fought gangsters naked in Chicago, made love in an ornate, bad-taste bed, to say nothing of the bath. You did those things. With me. And I think... I really think you want to do them again"

BRAVO!! BRAVO!!

A Vampire's Christmas Carol - Cynthia Eden

Well, that was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I do love the classic Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol but I wasn't really sure how it would translate to vampires. I'm not sure why I ever doubted Cynthia Eden. She could write a story about the dictionary and I would be phenomenal.

UHG! I actually teared up and had to put it down for a minute. I'm afraid if I write too much more I will give some story away. However, I will say this... sex is hot, characters are well developed and I recommend this book to anyone with EYES!

Serafina and the Silent Vampire - Marie Treanor

Pretty good and interesting read. It sort of felt like a cross between Sookie Stackhouse and Buffy with a dash of Sherlock Holmes and adult Scooby Doo. That isn't bad, but that's just what it kind of reminds me of.

Serafina is a multitalented psychic who speaks to the dead. She's been hired by a family to seek out their son's stalker who they believe is a vampire. Which Sera doesn't believe in vampires... until she meets Blair the silent vampire. None of Sera's friends can hear Blair speak. However Sera can because she can speak to the dead. Blair is charismatic and sexy 300 year old vampire. When they Sera and Blair first meet there is an instant connection and not just the psychic connection.

Overall, it's interesting and I will read the next book. However I would have really liked the sex scenes to be longer and more descriptive. They were a little mild for my taste. This also has a HFN ending.

Chased: A Titan Novella - Cristin Harber

Are you kidding me? Im not really sure where to begin with this and Im not sure how I can convey how much I love this little novella. There is SO much story packed into this novella that it makes you feel like you're reading a full length book.

Jenny Chase is Sugar's sister (we met her in Westin's Chase) and Jenny has been in love with her BFF's brother Asher McIntyre for as long as she can remember. Ash is a Politician and has been focused on himself and his career. However, he's always noticed Jenny and knew she'd be a distraction. Well, not anymore!

Holy Hotness Batman!! The characters, chemistry, the tie in with the Titan Group and the sex... just WOW! I really think Harber's writing gets better with each book.

I LOVE THE TITAN GROUP

Gambled: A Titan Novella - Cristin Harber

I wasn't really sure about this story line when I first sat down to read it. I've never read a romance where the couple is already married and then I wasn't really sure I would like Brocks story. Well, well, well... there is a reason why I like Cristin Harber and its because she can write damn good books!

Smack my ass and call me Sarah! This book picks up right where Westin's Chase ended. Brock betrayed Titan in order to save his wife and kids. Brock had all but killed his friendship with Jared and when it was all said and done, destroyed his marriage and lost his kids. Brock was at rock bottom.

I've gotta say that I felt really bad for Brock because he was only doing what he thought was right. He would and did do anything it took to save his family. I absolutely loved Brock and Sarah's story. I love that they get to fall in love all over again and discover new things about each other.

My favorite sex scene is in the back of the car, *belly butterflies* it was honest, hot, raw, wild and fierce.

The only thing that bothered me was the ice cream. That is just a personal preference thing for me. However, I will say that it was tactfully done and well written and it didn't consume the scene so I was okay with it.

Brock has been redeemed and he deserves his HEA. This novella is only $.99 on Amazon and so worth it. Well done Harber!

Mine to Hold - Cynthia Eden

Love or Obsessed? BOTH! YES!! This is the Cynthia Eden I remember! This book is fantastic!

Both Claire and Noah have a dark and complicated past. When Claire was 16 her ex-boyfriend, who is the senators son, murders her parents and attempted the same with her. He was sent to prison however shes never been completely free of him. Claire has a very difficult time trusting anyone, especially men. Noah has bloody past as well. He has killed while in the military and out.

I could not put this book down. I was captivated and hooked from the beginning. I started it yesterday morning, went to work all day and came home and read until midnight. Then I woke up at 5am and finished the book by 7am. This book is an easy read and fast paced. The characters and chemistry were hot and believable. The suspense got my heart pumping a little and it made me question everyone involved. Lets not forget about all the great sex involved! Sweet mercy! I need a cold shower. Overall... its a fabulous read and Cynthia Eden knows her stuff!

Noah to Claire: "I look at you, and my whole body burns. I want you naked. I want you screaming. I want to see pleasure make your eyes flash even brighter. So I wondered if that was just me. Is the arousal all on my side? The attraction? Or do you feel it, too?"

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Rogue's Proposal - Jennifer Haymore

Oh, this was a good one! Ive never read anything by Jennifer Haymore but she now has a new fan. The Rogues Proposal is the 2nd book in the House of Trent series. I have not read the first one yet, but I plan to. This book works well as a standalone too. I was never lost and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I love Luke and Emma!! Luke feels like he's been living under his brothers shadow his entire life. Luke has a complicated and dark past and he's trying to work through his demons. Even though Luke thinks he's evil, deep down he is kind, caring, a real gentleman and a beast in bed. *waggles eyebrows* Emma is a widow who's devoted to her family and trying to make sure they are taken care of. Her late husband's business partner murdered him and stole her family's fortune. Emma seeks out Lord Lukas Hawkins to help her track down her husband's killer and get her family's money back. The man that murdered Emma's husband is also the man who was with Luke's mother before she disappeared 6 months ago.

This story is amazing! I was pulled in from the very beginning and the connection Luke and Emma have is sweet and.... not so innocent. There is some surprising twists in the book and I was constantly intrigued and I even cried a little. This is a difficult one to put down. Haymore really knows how to write a sex scene and there are a lot of them. Each sexual encounter Luke and Emma had were intense. I actually felt Luke and Emma falling in love and was cheering for them from the very beginning.

Oh and one more thing... Luke says to Emma shortly after they meet for the first time: "But I have a condition of my own. I can offer you the heights of pleasure, Mrs. Emma Curtis. If, you at some point during the term of our agreement, you were to beg... I promise, I'll not deny you."

Luke: "I want you, Emma. I have since that first night. Every single night, my body is an inferno burning just for you. And every night I deny it. Every night I suffer. Will you beg? Will you relieve my suffering?"

Luke (my personal favorite line): "I have done things to women that would horrify you. I've taken them two at a time. I've shared with other men. I've participated in orgies."

Freshman Orientation (Pauer Bautam University #1) - Brandon Reed

Well, that was a super fast, trying to get laid, banging and then insta-love. This is a very short and silly little story about a two college students, Ryan senior and Sean freshman. Basically, Ryan scans the new freshman list looking for is next hookup/conquest when he spots Sean. Ryan is basically a walking boner, looking to stick it in any waiting young man and he's not shy about it.

I especially loved the warning at the very beginning:WARNING: Explicit Gay Sex Ahead. But I'm guessing that's partly why you bought this book, isn't it? J

Ryan has a boner through most of the story and at one point starts masturbating in class while looking at Sean. The rest of the class is watching a film so it's not noticeable. Sean may be 18, but he knows what he wants and seems to be topping Ryan through most of the story.

Overall, It was a fun little read and I enjoyed it. The sex is good but quick. However you'll understand why it has to be quick when you read it. There really isn't a plot and when they said "I love you", it really isn't believable.

CLIFF HANGER AND NO HEA!! Personal waste of time.

This Man - Jodi Ellen Malpas
WARNING

CLIFF HANGER

NO HEA

Well, that was a complete waste of time. This started off really strong. Both Ava and Jesse were great characters and the attraction then sex between the two was scorching hot. Then... well... at about 35% in, Ava went straight up teenager and started accusing Jesse of things in her head that he's never done and taking it out on him. Then Jesse went creepy alpha stalker with abusive qualities thrown in (disclaimer... there was no physical abuse of any kind in this book, unless you count the abuse my eyeballs and brain took from reading this.)

I almost stopped reading this but I kept with it, keeping my fingers crossed that it would get better. At about 89% I started to become slightly interested again and it started to look like I might get some questions answered and maybe we could wrap up this train wreck. NOPE! The only thing I found out, was what I had figured out in the very beginning, and that was
DUH, he runs a sex club.
However, we don't get any of the dirty little details.

Also, maybe you should get to know someone a little bit before you start proclaiming your "love" for them. I mean, it was so backwards. You meet, have sex, have anal sex on your second encounter, fall in "love" and then go out on a "date"? For goodness sakes... you don't know how old he is, what's his middle name, when's his birthday, what's his favorite color, what kind of business he's in. When they first met and he was telling her how he wanted the rooms decorated with the large ceiling beams... my first thought for the book was.. "Oh sex swings and bondage! This book is going to be fantastic". In real life my thoughts were "RUN! He's going to murder you and hang you from the ceiling!"

Another thing I didn't like about this book is the type of words used or the way they were used. I totally understand that this is a British author and they say things differently than we do. However, the word "Lady" is like nails on a chalk board when using it they way Jesse continued to use it. "Making Friends"? What the hell is that? It's very childlike and elementary to me. Call it what it is... makeup sex or just making up! Oh and the double standards... Ava cant use bad language, however Jesse tells her to stop using bad language, while using bad language to tell her this.
Ava: FVCK!
Jesse: Watch your FVCKING mouth!

Oh and Sarah? Who dat b!tch? I know he said she's a friend and she works for him... Ava needs to grow a backbone and tell that hoe off. Then confront Jesse about it. Did you sleep with her? If so, that's cool because it's in the past right? What's her story and why is she warning me away from you? Why does she have your cell phone? SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Then the so called "bonus chapter" really did it for me. Im ready to jump out a window and never read this author again. It was the SAME story told from his POV!! Really? Give me something else! Give me a reason to read the next book!

What would have made this entire book better is the dirty details and less page filler. Maybe Ava could have found out about the
sex club
at about 40% to 50% in and then we get to see how they work through this. Will she stay? Is she intrigued by the taboo? What exactly is his role in the hotel? WHY oh WHY won't he tell Ava how old he is? Seriously its not that big of a deal. I mean he obviously doesn't look or act like an old man and he has the stamina of a 21 year old. SO WTF? She's still having sex with you... I mean... a lot of sex! Oh and where in the world is all the birth control going?

Overall... I did not like it for me. I was completely disappointed! Like I said before, it started off strong and then I got knocked out with how boring it was. It was a complete waste of my time. Most of the book is fluff and writing for the sake of writing. I mean, the extra writing does not allow you to get to know your characters any better. Its all damn page filler and no content. There is sex and LOTS of it, but there is no story. With that being said... its a HOT mess! Im left with a Cliff Hanger, No HEA and none of my questions answered. This series is dead to me.

Im OUT!
